I visited the store as I had some questions about my Pentax K1000. The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and showed me a few things about the camera. He was very upfront and helpful with the camera's shutter issue and did some troubleshooting of the camera to show me what was wrong with it. He didn't pressure me into getting the camera repaired, stating it would work fine for certain shutter speeds but not for the others. He showed me what was wrong with it, and gave me a rough estimate for how much it would cost to fix it.
Overall, very helpful, and I would definately go back again.
He also had the part on hand for the battery compartment and inserted a new battery and squared me away on the light meter question I had.
I stopped by Benner's on a business trip to the Boston area. I ended up getting a Nikon D7000 from them with a couple nice lenses. Prices were spot on and the staff knew their stuff. When i got home I mailed them my old N70 to fix up and they had it running in top shape 4 days later. Fixed the meter, advance, and the thumb hole I poked thru the shutter. Great camera shop!

After they had my camera for 8 months to repair a simple issue that was quoted at $95 (I paid in cash plus tip BEFORE the repairs were made), I went in to Benners camera shop today to get my expensive professional Canon camera back just in time to take it to Nova Scotia with me for a very important trip. After 8 months of having my camera in their possession, the owner of the store tells me that the camera STILL isn't fixed and that the $95 is unrefundable. I told him that was ridiculous and he threw a fit and refused to return my cash or repair my camera. Once I got into my car I noticed that my $90 battery had also been stolen from my camera while it was at the shop. Now I don't have a digital camera for my 3 month expedition that I start tomorrow. I will never go back. These people are thieves and I will be suing for what they stole from me.
